Off roading on Asseteague

We took the Rover and drove about 15 miles on the sand- down to the VA border. It was amazing scenery - wild horses on the beach. Robert finally got in his off roading.

The Kitchen Floor

On top there was carpet; beneath that lineoleum. Beneath that, tar paper, and beneath that - a beautiful hardwood floor! Expensive, but worth every penny, every day that we step into the kitchen.

Amish smoothies

Wow! That is the best yogurt I have ever had. We went out to Rebersburg, an enclave of Amish near us. We saw a buggy shop and lots of farms with cottage industries on the side. Soaps, candles, jams, produce, eggs, butter...fun day. Oh and homemade yogurt to die for.

Sunday walk

At the cemetery.

Sunday in the park

At the Marina for a hot dog bbq and afternoon walk along the river. Breezy and cool, a nice break from the triple digits of last week.

At Lake Erie

It's very impressive but no swimming beach and a lot dead fish around. Hope it's not due to pollution. Still a nice walk.

Chataqua- great idea or just Another rich people playground?

The jury is still out for us. Th educational activities look neat and it's certainly beautiful....but is it just a commercialized version of a spiritual retreat? And is that a bad idea? Not sure yet but it sure is pleasant here! On the other hand, an island with NO people for a
week just might be had at the price. Hmmmmm...
